Van Vader (バンベーダー) is the final boss from Altered Beast. Neff himself takes on the form of an armored, humanoid rhinoceros. If the Centurion is far from him, Neff will charge across the screen at high speed. When close, he attacks with punches and kicks.
What makes Van Vader unique out of all of Neff's forms in the game is that he mirrors the Centurion in terms of mimicking punches, kicks, knock-back animation, and even takes on the appearance of a humanoid animal like the Centurions Were-forms, it can be presumed that Neff powered himself using the Orbs he siphoned from the Centurion at the end of the previous levels.
In the Famicom version of the game, Van Vader is much bigger, but is stationary and only attacks with punches, which releases shockwaves in two different heights.
